The machinist intercom unit is designed for installation in traction units (locomotives, electric locomotives) and steerable cars of the local railway transport.

The microphone unit is designed as a chassis for installation on control panels or consoles.

The front panel has a microphone on a flexible holder, a loudspeaker, four voice communication buttons and a green signal lamp. All the necessary electronics are located on three boards inside. On the rear panel is a 40-pin LAR connector, separate ground, microphone sensitivity and speaker volume controls, and a fuse block.
